Launch of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Society

The launch of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Society in Abuja aims to facilitate home ownership for its members. This initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s housing reforms, with the cooperative officially commencing its operations on the 5th of April 2024 through an online launch, ensuring Nigerians can benefit from these advancements. The primary purpose of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Society is to foster closer connections between the government and its citizens, with a particular focus on improving access to homeownership.

Additionally, the cooperative aims to offer assistance for businesses, opportunities for savings and investments, and a variety of other benefits. As per a communication from the Secretary of the Cooperative, Amii Sesoo, the establishment of the Renewed Hope Cooperative Society stemmed from a vision to establish a resource that would facilitate members in acquiring affordable and superior housing that aligns with His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. “One of the major challenges confronting Nigerians is that of Housing.

We aim to leverage our collective expertise, knowledge, and networks and understanding of the housing sector, housing reform initiatives of the Federal Ministry of Housing and Urban Development under the leadership of Arc Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, housing delivery institutions including the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN), Federal Housing Authority (FHA) and other FG and private sector-led housing projects to enable our members become homeowners. In addition to homeownership, there are several other benefits that members can get from the cooperative, including mortgage processing, savings, property management, business development, and so on”, the statement reads. “It is important that as citizens of this country, we begin to look inward and see how we can take the programmes of government to the people by using uniquely crafted Purpose Vehicles.

Housing is key for all Nigerians, and this is an area where we already have leverage. We understand the sector, how Housing finance works, what needs to be done, and are already in talks to get things moving,” he said. Nigerians who are keen on this opportunity should go ahead and fill out an online form to show their interest. Further checks and registration will be carried out afterwards.
